This policy explains what happens if you need to cancel a paid service or get money back on Coopman. Three kinds of payment are made through the platform, and each is refunded by the party that received the money.
| Payment | Paid to | Refund decided by |
|---|---|---|
| Platform service fees (for example, certain NOCs, listings, professional subscriptions) | Coopman | Coopman |
| Society charges (maintenance, transfer fees, amenity fees and similar) | Your society's own account | Your society |
| Professional jobs | The professional directly | You and the professional |
1. Platform service fees
A few optional services carry a fee — NOC for loan / mortgage (₹500), Professional provider subscription (₹999) — always shown before you pay. Society charges, stamp duty and government fees are separate.
When you can get a refund
- Cancelled before work starts — if you cancel a request before the society or the platform has started acting on it, you can ask for a full refund.
- Paid twice, or charged the wrong amount — the extra or wrong amount is refunded in full.
- Service not delivered because of a platform fault — if a paid service could not be provided because of a fault on the platform, the fee is refunded.
When a fee is not refundable
- Once the service has been delivered — for example, an NOC has been issued, or a listing has been published.
- When a request is refused by the society on its merits after it has been processed.
- For the part of a professional subscription period that has already started.
- Government fees, stamp duty and charges of other parties, which Coopman does not receive.
2. Society payments
Maintenance bills, transfer fees, amenity bookings and other society charges are paid into your society's own account; Coopman does not hold this money. Refunds are decided by your society under its bye-laws and the decisions of its managing committee. You can request a refund from your dashboard and follow its progress there.
3. Professional services
Professional jobs are paid directly to the professional, not to Coopman. Cancellation charges and refunds for that work are agreed between you (or your society) and the professional, usually in their quote. If a job arranged through Coopman goes wrong, raise a dispute on the job in your dashboard and we will review what was recorded, but we cannot force a professional to refund money paid to them.
4. How to request a refund
- Sign in and open Payments in your dashboard.
- Find the payment and choose Request refund. Give the reason and any supporting details.
- The request is verified and then approved by the party that received the money (Coopman for platform fees, your society for society charges).
- The refund is paid back. It is shown as paid out only when the refund reference is recorded — approval alone never marks money as refunded.
You will see each step in your dashboard. If you cannot sign in, e-mail us with the payment reference.
5. How and when you receive the money
- Online payments are refunded to the original payment method (the same card, bank account or UPI ID) through the payment gateway.
- After the refund is processed, banks and gateways usually take 5–7 working days to show it in your account. Some banks take longer.
- Payments recorded by your society as cheque, bank transfer or permitted cash are refunded by your society by a traceable method.
6. Failed, pending and duplicate payments
- Money debited but payment failed — the bank or gateway normally returns it automatically, usually within 5–7 working days. If it does not, raise a support request with the payment reference.
- Payment pending — wait a few minutes and refresh; confirmation can take a little time. Please do not pay again until the first payment has failed or been cancelled.
- Paid twice — request a refund of the second payment; it is refunded in full.
7. Cancelling a request or listing
You can withdraw a request or a listing from your dashboard while it is still open. Whether a fee paid for it can be refunded depends on the rules in section 1 (platform fees) or your society's decision (society charges).
8. Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us or your society first — most issues are solved quickly that way. If you raise a chargeback with your bank, we will provide the bank with the payment records.
9. Questions
Raise a support request from your dashboard, or e-mail us with your payment reference. E-mail: info@coopman.in. See also our Terms and Conditions and Contact Us.
